The birth of a unique tarp

The tarp has 21 attachment points and is designed in the shape of a shuriken with tension sleeves on the front and back. The unique features of this lightweight and compact tarp provide easy pitch and versatility with unlimited applications.

The NINJA TARP has a unique shape that facilitates pitching. A central rope is not required so the tarp can be set up swiftly. The poles can be moved easily as well, so it does not take much effort to change the pitch configuration.

Two sides of the tarp have sleeves with cords, and the adjusters on the corners make it possible to peg down the tarp freely.

Our tarp is suitable for individual and group trips in all seasons, whether you are headed to the sea, river or mountain. Use your creativity and have fun with our the NINJA products. There are no rules to follow; simply apply common sense and find the best pitch configuration for your needs.

The tarp has 21 attachment points that can be used to connect to guylines or from point to point. You can choose guyout points freely or connect multiple tarps.

With NINJA NEST

You can use it as a tent when you set up with the NINJA NEST.

DESIGNER'S VOICE

Among outdoor gear, tarps are some of the trickiest to use. Setting one up in the rain, tying knots to keep out the weather—it looks cool and really shows off your outdoor skills. But let's be honest, tarps can be tough to handle. I’m sure a lot of people feel the same way. Traditionally, tarps are seen as communal camping gear, but if you think of them as just a piece of fabric, they can be much more versatile for individual use. So, I thought, what if there was a tarp that was easy to set up and super versatile? That idea got me started on this project in the summer of 2013.

My first prototype was an unusual hexagon shape, but it wasn’t easy to set up. No matter how stylish it looked or how many ways you could use it, if it’s hard to set up, it’s not practical. So, I focused on making it easy to pitch. After lots of testing, I found that a "shuriken shape"—inspired by the traditional Japanese throwing star used by ninjas—worked best. The great thing about this design is that you can stake down the four corners first and then raise the poles last, which is the opposite of how tarps are usually set up. This makes it easy for one person to pitch, even in bad weather! Plus, you can place the poles wherever you need them, giving you more flexibility. This is how I created the NINJA TARP.

The NINJA TARP can be set up in over 30 different ways, but I won’t explain all of them. Why? Because discovering new ways to use it is part of the fun and where your outdoor skills really shine. Whatever adventure you have planned this weekend, the NINJA TARP is sure to come in handy. So, just toss it in your pack and go.
