Non-swaying running belt
A running belt that can be used "pretty much" from training to racing. The unique front and back double pockets provide both ease of use and a good fit.
Simple Pocket
FRONT POCKET
The flat pocket design without gussets adapts to changes in capacity with stretch mesh, preventing items from bouncing. Despite having no zipper, it securely holds important items like your phone and wallet, allowing for easy access.
BACK POCKET
A back pocket with the same design and size as the front pocket. It can hold a bottle up to 500ml and by tightening the center shock cord, it reduces vertical movement of the items. It has more storage capacity than it looks.
Comfortable Fit
SIDE STRAP
The left-side buckle allows for one-touch attachment and detachment. The V-shaped strap layout holds the bag securely.
SHOCK CORD
Shock cord with 4-point support enhances the fit to your body. You can fine-tune the tightness even while running.
Usage Examples
WITH BACKPACK
The design height is kept low so that it can be used with various running packs, including the RUSH family. It minimizes the up-and-down movement typical of running belts, making it perfect for long races.
ATTACHIMENT
By using the two included bungee cords and the eight belt loops, you can attach poles or race numbers. The belt loops use reflective tape, making it safe for nighttime use.
DESIGNER'S VOICE
My approach is all about getting the weight distribution and pocket layout just right to improve fit, stability, and usability. That’s exactly how I tackled the design of the RUSH HIP too.
I started by thinking, "Where on the body should each item go?" From there, I thought about the shape, how often you'd use each piece of gear, and laid out the design accordingly. Then I made a few prototypes and tested them, always keeping the weight balance in mind. It’s kind of like designing a car, where you ask, "Where do we put the passengers, the luggage, and the engine?"
Luckily, the RUSH HIP is a small product, so I had a lot of fun with it—making a prototype in the morning, testing it during lunch, and tweaking it in the afternoon. At first, the pocket had a zipper, but after a few tests, I thought, "Do we really need zippers?" The waist belt was originally secured with Velcro, but soon it became, "Maybe we don’t need this either?" And just like that, the design kept getting simpler. These moments when you can refine a product are some of the most fun for me as a designer.
If you get a chance to use the RUSH HIP, I hope you can feel the fun we had while making it. For now, try it out around your neighborhood, and then take it on some bigger adventures!
Let’s pack and go!
