As mountaineering and outdoor activities become more popular, the number of mountain accidents is also increasing. Hearing tragic news like this pains me as an outdoor enthusiast. As a manufacturer, I wondered if there was any way we could raise awareness. I want everyone to seriously think about 'returning home safely.' With this in mind, I decided to focus on first aid kits, and this project was born.

In the early stages of development, we started by listening to the voices of PAAGO's ambassadors, mountain guides, and healthcare professionals, and also conducted our own web survey. The survey received over 1,000 responses, which made it clear how high the concern for safety is. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Based on the survey information, we identified the contents, usage, and dissatisfaction points of first aid kits. We realized that many people were not satisfied with existing first aid bags, and were using ZIPLOC bags instead. Indeed, the pockets in typical first aid bags are often of an unclear size, while ZIPLOC bags excel in waterproofing, visibility, and hygiene. I, too, am a fan of them. 'So why not create a PE bag specifically for first aid?' And that's how 'POPS' was born.

While the idea was good, as usual, bringing it to life was challenging. To create the original PE bag, we started by searching for suppliers, and spent a lot of time testing sizes by considering all kinds of first aid items in a very analog process. The biggest hurdle was the minimum production lot. A quick calculation revealed that it would take more than 10 years to use up the bags! OMG...

And so, the 'MY FIRST AID' bag was completed. It’s a bag that allows the user to create a truly unique first aid kit. It’s truly 'my first aid bag.' I hope this encourages you to reexamine your own first aid kit and enjoy a safer outdoor life.
